Front panel residual current relays are electronic devices used in combination with an external toroidal transformer. The choice of toroidal transformers is made according to the useful diameter and the minimum value of the leakage current to be detected.
The range of ELR front panel residual current relays has been tested in combination with miniature circuit breakers (S200 range) and moulded case circuit breakers (Tmax series up to T5 630 A) conforming with IEC/EN 60947-2 Annex M.
In addition to the existing DS201 (2019) RCBO series (2 modules width), ABB is introducing this new generation of RCBO called DS301C (1 module width) for space-related applications.
This new product is the perfect combination of MCB Unibis and ABB RCCB technologies. It guarantees, as a RCBO, to protect each circuit individually from overload to protect installation, fault default for human protection and continuity of service for the other circuits.
With this new DS301C, ABB can cover the main market needs for residential, commercial and building applications up to 20 A rating nominal current.
The use of control switches, pushbuttons and indicator lights enables switching, controlling and electrical consumer indications from a central point in the switchgear. The narrow 9 mm width of the modular devices used as rail-mounted devices saves space in the splitters. Therefore, the devices are ideally suited for the realization of space-saving and modern installation options. The off switch has separator properties as per DIN EN 60669-2-4.
